Events and Speakers at Adult Ed


The start of the new academic term has been a success!  Students are prepping for their GED exam, taking classes to earn their Adult High School Diploma, improving their English language skills in both day and night classes, meeting with tutors to earn a National External Diploma and studying to pass the Citizenship exam.  Valley Regional Adult Education holds special events and hosts speakers to inform our students. Over the past two months the following speakers and events included:

  • The Path to Entrepreneurship, Judy Rockwell owner of Three Bridges Coffeehouse, Shelton
  • How to Manage Income and Budget, People's United Bank, Huntington Branch
  • How to Use the Goodwill Career Centers, Goodwill Career Center, Shelton
  • Allied Health Careers, Griffin Hospital School of Allied Health Careers, Ansonia
  • Safety in the Home and Work, Griffin Hospital Community Outreach Program, Ansonia  

Additional events planned for the term include:

  • Health Insurance Literacy Program, Community Health Centers
  • A visit to Naugatuck Community College
  • An event with Olivia Roberts, a motivational speaker
  • An informational session with a recruiter, Hartford Health Care 
  • A visit to the public library 
  • and more....
