This tour will start in beautiful Kennebunkport, Maine. Stroll the streets for great shopping and grab a quick snack.
It took George H.W. Bush to make Kennebunkport known to most of the country, but New Englanders have enjoyed the quiet coastal Maine town for years. In hot weather, beaches are a major draw, but Kennebunkport's many small boutiques, art galleries and restaurants make a visit fun at any time if year. After our visit to Kennebunkport, our tour will take you to Mike's Clam Shack in Wells, Maine for lunch.
After lunch the tour will continue to Ogunquit where you can stroll the streets of walk the Marginal Way.
According to legend, Ogunquit (pronounced / o-gun-quit/) was named by the Abenaki tribe, because the word means "beautiful place by the sea". Those of us who are fortunate to live, work or play here agree with this ancient assessment. We all have different reasons for finding Ogunquit beautiful - some love the salty-sweet scent of beach roses or sea breezes wafting along the Marginal Way walking path, some enjoy playing tag with the lapping incoming tide as the sand caresses their bare feet, while others enjoy the nostalgic village feel of strolling along quiet buildings, coves, and pedestrian bridges throughout town.
Our last stop on this Maine journey will be York, Maine. We will stop at Goldenrod's where you can watch them make Homemade Taffy and Chocolate. Then it's off to Famous Nubble Light the most picturesque lighthouse in New England. Here you will be treated to an ice cream at Fox's Ice Cream Shop. After you indulge in the ice cream, our tour will head home.
